News you can use

  • New to the area? There are changes to the registration process due to COVID-19. Please contact Cindy Miller, Data Manager (252-393-3990 ext 110) to obtain more information.

  • Pre-deployment or post-deployment leave coming up? Please contact Cindy Miller, Data Manager (252-393-3990 ext 110) regarding needed documentation and the approval process for absences. Documentation is needed prior to the leave dates in order for the days to be considered an excused absence.

  • Access and complete Carteret County Schools Registration Packet: https://www.carteretcountyschools.org/registration

    • Proof of Residency

    • Birth Certificate

    • Immunization Record

    • Prior School Information

    • Most recent report card

    • Custody papers (if applicable)

  • Contact use if you have any questions with registration or would like to schedule an appointment. (252-393-3990)

  • Request Tour of the school (not applicable during Covid-19 precautions)

  • Meet with School Counselor to ease transition for the family

  • Contact Military School Liaison officers if any other concerns arise

  • Get excited to be a White Oak Wildcat!

  • Notify White Oak us that your child will be leaving at least two weeks in advance.

  • Before the child's last day, ensure that you have the following documentation

    • Most current report card

    • Any additional paperwork - this would include medical, IEP, 504, AIG.

  • If you are PCSing overseas, please contact us (252-393-3990) to coordinate transfer of records

  • Find out the latest date your child can check out of school and still receive full credit

  • Request work that your child can do to keep current during the transfer

  • Community Counseling: Offers counseling services (individual, couples, family, child, teen, etc.) to help service members and their families in a wide range of needs such as anxiety, anger management, grief/loss, adjustment issues, and behavior concerns. They offer walk in/same day appointments.

  • Exceptional Family Members Program (EFMP): EFMP helps service members with managing the special needs of a family member. Special needs can be any diagnosed physical, intellectual, or emotional need that requires specialized medical or education services.

  • FOCUS Project: Families OverComing Under Stress (FOCUS) provides resilience training to military children, families, and couples. It teaches practical skills to help families and couples overcome common challenges related to military life by enhancing communication, problem solving, and goal setting skills.

  • New Parent Support Program: Team of licensed social workers, counselors, and registered nurses who provide educational and support services to military families preparing for parenthood or have at least one child age 5 or under.
